Those with insulin control issues such as diabetes, Syndrome X, glucose intolerance or sensitivity and insulin resistance normally show decreases levels of vitamins and minerals. There may also be a concern with circulation, heart health, strokes, vision, kidneys, loss of limbs and other functions in the body that suffer due to a lack of insulin production in the body. This formula promotes the ability of the body to make insulin. Additionally, it provides ingredients that support the control of sugars and vision health, vascular and circulatory functions, and kidney function health. There are lipotropic factors and other ingredients that support metabolic processes, which includes metabolism of fats and proteins. As in Ayurvedic Practice, which focuses on increasing health as opposed to decreasing symptoms, we have included ingredients that focus on increasing health. While we also include items to decrease symptoms and promote repair to eradicate the cause of disease, we understand that where there is health, there is no room for disease. Ingredients in this formula were selected to support better health and functioning for people who may have a history of insulin sensitivities in their family, may be diagnosed with insulin sensitivities, and for those who are aging and experiencing glucose intolerance. The pancreas is responsible for insulin production and the islet cells, particularly the "B" (Beta) cells, have the major role in this function. Sugar Shocker has been developed in conjunction with a doctor who practices natural healing techniques and who uses natural products for support of the body's systems whenever possible. There are a number of known nutrients and phytonutrients (including herbal extracts) that have a positive effect on the body's ability to manage the insulin/glucacon (I/G) ratio. Our formulation is specifically designed to include these factors. Some well-known factors include Corosolic Acid, Gymnema Leaf Extract and Memordica. Corosolic Acid (Banaba Leaf Extract) that has been clinically proven to promote normal blood glucose transport into the cellular structure. High levels of Gymnema Sylvestre Extract are included to promote pancreatic function and to aid the body in rebuilding the Beta Islet cells. Memordica (Bitter Melon) has been used for thousands of years in Asia to promote glucose tolerance and it is also included. Our formulation includes herbal extracts and other ingredients to support this process. Insulin facilitates glucose entry into cells. The body must contain the proper essential fatty acids and amino acids for this function to work properly. Sugar Shocker with Insulin Support Factors adds these ingredients (Borage, DHA/EPA and amino acids) to promote this function in the body. Just as importantly, this product includes ingredients that support the body in basic nutritional elements. Doctors and scientists have discovered that those who have diabetes are at risk for deficiencies in minerals and vitamins, as well as other important components for good health, such as enzymes, amino acids and trace minerals. Sugar Shocker contains these important components and the formula contains high levels of those ingredients that are known to be extremely low in those with diabetes and other glucose related maladies. As most of us are aware, those who have these kinds of problems are at risk for impaired vision, reduced kidney function, circulatory and blood vessel problems and stress on the nervous system. A portion of this is due to a lack of antioxidants and free radical damage. Sugar Shocker is loaded with a wide variety of antioxidants that are known to be effective. Our formulation is in a base of natural, whole food extracts and contains vision support factors, super antioxidants, support for improved mental function & mood, natural energy boosters and metabolism factors. Since the modern food supply is missing many of the nutrients that we expect due to the commercial farming methods, the time spent in the warehouses, and the food processing, we must look to supplementation to truly supply all the body needs for functioning at peak levels and to boost the immune system. The way a person metabolizes food is very important. For those with glucose intolerance metabolism of fats, proteins and carbohydrates is frequently a problem. Sugar Shocker has been formulated to take this into account. You will find numerous ingredients in the product that support proper metabolism and digestion of food and in supporting control of cholesterol production. Sugar Shocker contains all of the lipotropic factors (choline, betaine hcl, inositol & methionine). Lipotropics prevent an abnormal accumulation of fat in the liver. Lipotropics increase production of lecithin by the liver thereby helping to keep cholesterol more soluble and lessening deposits in blood vessels. They also detoxify amines, which are by-products of protein metabolism and aide in converting fat into useful energy. This lipotropic package supports the body in supporting insulin function. As mentioned above, the nervous system is negatively affected for those with glucose intolerance. There are vitamins, minerals and herbs in Sugar Shocker that will promote the proper functioning of the nervous system and all neurotransmission functions. Since most degenerative disease, including diabetes and hypoglycemia, begins because our body is too toxic from acid forming foods & stress, this formulation is alkalizing. Sugar Shocker contains alkaline forming ingredients that promote bioavailability and support changing the body pH. And like all of the products in this line, we know that instead of taking something that is acid forming into our body, we are taking an alkaline, high pH supplement. The Vitamin C Complex and synergistic factors promote nutrient transport to all parts of the body. The digestive enzymes and high level of Lactobacillus support digestion of the nutrients so that they will not be eliminated in our stool. Additionally, these factors promote better digestion of the nutrients we obtain from our food all day. Sugar Shocker has been especially formulated to support and promote better health for those with insulin sensitivities such as diabetes, insulin resistance, glucose intolerance or Syndrome X. We also strongly recommend that if you do have diabetes or are sugar sensitive, that you eat a diet rich in plant foods and low in dairy foods. Animal proteins may be eaten if taken in moderation and if you do not eat very fatty cuts of meat. Fish is recommended, as fish is high in the Omega Fatty Acids that are good for cholesterol balance and nervous system function. It is also important to drink 6 to 8 glasses of spring water with pH Plus daily. We know that those who have this aging disease have a lower pH than they should. When we have acid toxins in our body, they need to be flushed. It is especially important for those with insulin resistance and glucose intolerance to do so. Please ask the folks at NEWtritional Healthcare for some information on this important product and on why water is so important for us, sick or well. We also recommend that you consider taking MSM along with this program. MSM supports cellular energy production and supports joint health. MSM is a valuable nutrient that is responsible for cellular repair, synovial fluid levels, collagen and keratin formation and promotes a well functioning colon. Following a good dietary program, drinking lots of water with pH Plus, taking Sugar Shocker and MSM+ C and getting the proper exercise will promote better health. Start on this healthy program today. Better nutritional practices may reverse the damage caused by aging and glucose intolerance. CLICK HERE TO ORDER Below we have listed many of the ingredients that we have added, that may not be found in most daily vitamin supplements, with a little explanation of each. We believe that you will see why this is something we can use for daily nutritional and insulin control support. Vitamins Vitamin A: Vitamin A promotes healthy vision, glands, hair, skin & bone growth & aids in fighting infection. Vitamin D3: Aids in formation of bone, teeth, body tissue, & cartilage. Prevents rickets & promotes a healthy heart, nervous system & blood clotting. Vitamin E: This antioxidant vitamin protects from free radical damage & maintains skin collagen, cardiac, micro-vascular, eye, nerve, skeletal & muscle health. Prevents oxidation of LDL improving cholesterol control. Vitamin E is an inhibitor of oxidation processes in body tissues. Improves blood glucose tolerance and insulin sensitivity. May also prevent onset of diabetes. Patients with Type II diabetes taking Vitamin E supplements had improved insulin sensitivity and glucose tolerance. Another study indicated that improved glycemic control occurred in hyperglycemic conditions due to the decreased oxidative damage to pancreatic "B" (Beta) islet cells. In other studies, Vitamin E has been effective in preventing inflammation of blood vessels. This may thereby help prevent the complications to the vascular system caused by diabetes. Vitamin E was found to improve endothelial function in Type I diabetes mellitus. Vitamin B1: Thiamine converts carbohydrates into energy aids in protein & fat metabolization, energy production, digestion, nerve function & maintains muscle tone. Vitamin B2 - Riboflavin: Riboflavin is a coenzyme required to complete several reactions in the energy cycle. Glutathione reductase is a riboflavin-dependent enzyme that converts oxidized glutathione (GSSG) back to reduced glutathione (GSH), and is then able to perform its antioxidant functions via glutathione peroxidase. Without sufficient riboflavin this conversion does not occur. It is important for nerve & eye function. Vitamin B3: This vitamin is available as niacin or niacinamide. We chose niacinamide because niacin can cause flushing in some individuals. Niacinamide opens up the superficial blood vessels thereby improving blood circulation & aids in utilization of GABA. Necessary for carbohydrate & protein metabolism, fat & hormone synthesis, digestion, & nervous system. It also improves insulin production by preventing damage to pancreas in Type I diabetes. Prevents oxidative damage to pancreas from activated immune cells. This vitamin has been shown in multiple clinical trials to prevent the onset of Type I diabetes in newly diagnosed individuals. It has been shown to prevent the death of beta islet cells in the pancreas. Pantothenic Acid: Pantothenic Acid is Vitamin B5. It aids in metabolism of protein, fat & carbohydrates. Promotes healthy skin & digestion & is a precursor to neurotransmitters. Vitamin B6: Vitamin B6 is involved in the metabolism of proteins, carbohydrates and lipids, including essential fatty acids. This vitamin is especially important in dependent enzymes that are involved in amino metabolism. Pyridoxine (one form of B6) converts DOPA into dopamine, a critical neurotransmitter. Maximizes the conversion to noradrenaline in the brain metabolism and the synthesis of carotine. Pyridoxal 5-phosphate (a coenzyme form of B6) is important the synthesis of carotine and in amino acid metabolism. Vitamin B12: This vitamin is a complex crystalline compound that functions in all cells, but especially in those of the gastrointestinal tract, the nervous system, and the bone marrow. It is known to aid in the development of red blood cells in higher animals. It is essential for the functioning of all body cells, nerve & brain cells, & fat/protein synthesis. A deficiency or subtle insufficiency (not necessarily reflected by anemia) is now known to result in memory loss, personality and mood changes and fatigue. Biotin: Biotin is an essential cofactor for enzymes. It aids in the synthesis of hormones & cholesterol, promotes healthy growth, skin, hair, nerves, bone marrow, & oil glands, aids in metabolism of fats& proteins, and acts as a co-factor in carbohydrate metabolism. Studies indicate that when used in higher doses (5 - 15 mg per day) it improves glucose tolerance in Type II diabetes & prevents damage to nerves resulting from deficiency. PABA: PABA, the "vitamin within a vitamin", occurs in combination with folic acid. PABA enables bacteria to synthesize folic acid. Protein breakdown and utilization and red blood cell formation depends on PABA. Folic Acid: Folic Acid aids in the synthesis of collagen & nucleic acid, is essential for red blood cell formation & amino acid metabolization. Has cardiovascular benefits. Vitamin C: Vitamin C helps iron absorption, aids in collagen synthesis & is a strong antioxidant (preventing free radical damage). It is linked with reduced risk of arthritis, asthma, cancer, cataracts, cognitive impairment, macular degeneration, impaired immune system & coronary disease. Dr. Linus Pauling pioneered research on this essential vitamin. Is promoted for wound healing, collagen formation, cancer prevention, endocrine & cardiovascular system, immune function & in diabetics promotes eye health. It is one of the least toxic substances known & any unused Vitamin C is eliminated quickly. Citrus Bioflavonoids: Flavonoids aid in the absorption of Vitamin C and are linked with the reduced risk of coronary disease & inhibition of cancer-cell growth. Citrus Bioflavonoids contain terpenes, linked to reduced risk of cancer & promote healthy microcirculation. Minerals Calcium: Calcium is required for strong bones and teeth. Calcium works with factors for blood clotting, is needed for the release of neurotransmitters, muscular contractions & includes blood vessels related to hypertension. Required for absorption of Vitamin B12. It is linked with reduced risk of osteoporosis & possibly hypertension. Both Calcium Carbonate and Calcium Pyruvate are included in the formula. The Carbonate form aids in alkalizing the body. The Pyruvate is required to start the Krebs Cycle, an energy cycle where the enzymes and chemical actions act as precursors to ATP. Pyruvate aids in the transportation of glucose and protein to the muscles, increasing the amount of ATP available to the mitochondria (the energy portion of the cellular structure). It also aids in the inhibition of fat production. By combining these two forms of Calcium, we include two very important compounds for those with insulin sensitivity and aging diseases. Magnesium: Magnesium is needed for the health of bones, regulation of body temperature & energy, the reactions of ATP, 300 enzymes, & for nerve & muscle function. It is linked with reduced risk of abnormal heart rhythms, coronary disease, heart failure, diabetes and in combination with calcium and magnesium have been shown to work to prevent hypertension & osteoporosis. Magnesium is essential for calcium utilization. Calcium stimulates the muscles to contract & magnesium allows them to relax. As magnesium disappears from the muscles, calcium rushes in & the muscles tend to become tense or cramped. Studies indicate that magnesium levels are lower in those with diabetes and the studies indicate that in individuals with non-insulin-dependent diabetes an increase in magnesium improved insulin's action on blood sugar. Potassium: Potassium reduces blood pressure & may reduce the risk of hypertension. It is required for ion exchange as an electrolyte. It aids in clear thinking by sending oxygen to the brain. Charges in the exchange between the sodium & potassium are essential for brain function and intercellular movement. Zinc: Zinc is a vital component of SOD (superoxide dimutase) & metallothionen. Zinc is associated with protein synthesis & supports the immune system by regulating production of T cells. It is essential to wound healing, tissue growth, insulin, reproductive organs & healthy blood. It is essential for normal function of many enzymes. It increases general anti-oxidant status of the body. Studies indicate that diabetics are normally deficient in zinc. Copper: Copper promotes iron, cholesterol & lipid metabolism, bone growth, skin elastin, collagen & melanin pigmentation, synthesis of connective tissue, maintenance of the heart muscle, immune & central nervous system function. It functions as cofactor with SOD along with manganese & zinc. It maximizes the conversion to noradrenaline in the brain. Manganese: Manganese is an important antioxidant nutrient, as it functions as part of SOD. Aids in synthesis of carbohydrates, fat, cholesterol & enzymes. Promotes reproductive organ health & bone & connective tissue formation. Zinc, copper & manganese work together as co-factors with SOD to protect against cancer & heart disease, & promotes the development of sex organs and bone, supports immune function, the storage & release of insulin, the mobilization of vitamin A from the liver, & the stabilization of cell membranes. Boron: This trace mineral is essential for energy utilization, lipid & mineral metabolism, & electrical activity in the brain & immune function. Boron is required by your body in trace amounts for proper metabolism of calcium, magnesium, & phosphorus. Boron helps brain, hormone & cell membrane functions. Kelp: Kelp is the most bioavailable substance that contains over 50 trace minerals. We include this important ingredient to give the body all of the natural trace minerals that are required. Kelp forests occur in cold, nutrient-rich waters & normally are restricted to temperatures less than 20ºC. Kelp was the original source of iodine, being discovered by Courtois in 1812. Iodine does not occur in nature in the uncombined condition, but is widely, though sparingly, distributed in the form of iodides of sodium and potassium, in seawater, some seaweed, and various mineral and medicinal springs. It is a very rich source of natural vitamins, minerals, and essential trace minerals, containing iodine, iron, sodium, phosphorus, calcium, magnesium, potassium, of vitamins A, B1, B2, C, D and E, plus amino acids. Kelp is especially high in iodine & provides the most natural base of potassium, sodium & magnesium that will be immediately usable by the brain to facilitate ATP function & fluid & nutrient movement. It is alkaline forming in the body. Chromium: Chromium levels decline with age, especially if the diet contains primarily processed foods. Chromium is needed for glucose to enter cells because it helps insulin to function by removing sugar from the blood. Chromium, working in combination with inositol, lowers the level of LDL cholesterol & increases HDL. It promotes healthier blood cholesterol and triglyceride levels. Chromium is essential for protein & lipid metabolism. Selenium: Selenium is the cofactor for glutathione peroxidase (GPx). GPx is most active in liver and removes peroxides formed by free radicals, especially at low concentrations. This is an antioxidant with activity as a free radical scavenger & works in harmony with vitamin E. It is important for growth & development. Silicon: The importance of dietary "Silicon" in the proper maintenance of human health cannot be overestimated. Silicon is the second most abundant element on earth. It is a trace mineral required for integrity of skin, ligaments, tendons and bone and for the proper functioning of prolyhydroxylase (an enzyme) that is responsible for the formation of collagen in bone and elastin, cartilage and other connective tissues. Silicon is important for maintaining healthy skin, hair and nails. Scientists, beginning with Louis Pasteur, believed that silica could be used in treating many diseases. In the 1970's studies conduct by Dr. Edith Carlisle at UCLA revealed that silica is necessary for normal bone development and that optimal growth and skeletal development could not occur without it. When lacking in silica the following symptoms are exhibited: cardiovascular and arterial problems, fragile bones, joint deterioration, digestive disorders and weakened gums and teeth. Some scientists believe that silica is as or more important than calcium in maintaining bone strength. Iodine: Iodine must be present for proper glandular function and metabolism. Iodine feeds the thyroid, which controls metabolism. Iodine is important for thyroid disorders & obesity. Iodine deficiency may result in goiter, the enlargement of the thyroid. Most forms of iodine are not bioavailable. This formula uses kelp, the most bioavailable form of iodine. Molybdenum: Molybdenum is a component of a coenzyme essential for the activity of xanthine oxidase, sulfite oxidase, & aldehyde oxidase. It is especially important for the diet to aid in sulfite oxidation. Vanadium: Vanadium is a trace mineral, a co-factor involved in insulin action. In combination with chromium, vanadium helps improve insulin function, improves blood glucose control in Type II diabetes, & is involved with lipid, cholesterol & neurotransmitter metabolism, fertility, thyroid function, bone & tooth development & hormone production. Phosphorous: Contained in the Phosphatidyl Complex, phosphorous works with calcium to form the structure of bones and teeth. Phosphorous forms the high-energy bonds in ATP, is found in DNA and RNA. Produces energy, growth, healthy kidney function, muscle & nerve impulses. Other Support Factors Alpha Lipoic Acid: This super antioxidant recycles the vitamin antioxidants, promotes the normalization of blood sugar, reduces the incidence of cataracts, prevents free radical damage in the nerves, brain & eyes, improves energy metabolism in the brain & chelates heavy metals. Additionally, it improves the utilization of glucose in the muscle and reduces blood sugar levels in Type II diabetes and is used to prevent and treat Type I and Type II diabetes. Clinical studies indicate a promising effect in prevention of nerve damage with polyneuropathy. Arjuna: This is made from the bark stem of Terminalia Arjuna. It has been used in India for centuries as a cardiac tonic, to aid in the control of cholesterol, in antibacterial formulations and for the treatment of cancer, hepatitis, & liver disease. Azadirachta Indica: Azadirachta Indica (Neem) has been used in Ayurvedic Medicine for a variety of purposes, including as a low cost pain reliever, fever reducer, anti-inflammatory and in antiviral, antibiotic and anti-fungal applications. It is used topically and internally. Recent studies indicate that the leaves of the tree may possess some antiviral activity in Hepatitis B by inhibiting the DNA polymerase. There have also been studies conducted in Germany on plants where Azadirachta Indica has been effective in binding certain plant viruses. The bacteria that have shown response in trials include Staphylococcus aureus and Salmonella typhosa. As an anti-fungal, preparations have shown toxicity to the following: Geotrichum (a yeast-like fungus that causes infections of the bronchi, lungs, and mucous membranes); Candida (a yeast-like fungus that is part of the normal mucous flora but can get out of control, leading to lesions in mouth (thrush), vagina, skin, hands, and lungs); Microsporum (a ringworm that invades hair, skin, and nails); Trichophyton (an "athlete's foot" fungus that infects hair, skin, and nails); and Epidermophyton (a "ringworm" that invades both skin and nails of the feet); Trichosporon (a fungus of the intestinal tract) as well as others. Barley Grass: Another alkaline forming whole food, barley grass is an SOD containing over 110 of the nutrients required by our body. It is high in chlorophyll, contains protein as polypeptides, 18 amino acids, enzymes, vitamins, minerals, trace minerals, & electrolytes. This is important because we can gain trace amounts of whole food components, such as Catalase, Arginine, Cytochrome oxidase, Aspartic acid, Dnase, Glutamic acid, Hexokinase, Malic dehydrogenase, Nitrate reductase, Isoleucine, Nitrogen oxyreductase, Leucine, Peroxidase, Lysine, Peroxidase catalase, Phosphatase, Phenylalanine, Phospholipase, Proline, Vitamin F, Polyphenoloxidase, Serine, Rnase, Threonine, Vitamin P, Tryptophan, Transhydrogenase, Tyrosine & Valine. They are found in very high concentrations in the brain because they are needed for normal brain function and development. These are also essential for immune system functioning & cell metabolism. They form prostaglandins that promote relaxation of muscles, enhance blood flow by promoting relaxation of the blood vessels. Bromelain: Bromelain, a proteolytic enzyme, is plant-based (pineapple primarily). It has a broader range of pH activity, to better aid in the digestion of food & remains active throughout the entire digestive tract. It is, therefore, extremely bioavailable. Since it is not specific, it can aid in the break down of a wider range of proteins. Additionally, plant based enzymes do not interfere with natural functioning in the body & have no side effects. As importantly, it promotes healing of inflamed & injured tissue. It has been found to reduce postoperative swelling, swelling, bruising & to reduce pain. It has also been found to be effective for patients suffering from sinusitis. It is a natural blood thinner. Carnosol: Antioxidant phenolic compound in rosemary & sage that may prevent cholesterol oxidation & prevent cancer. Catalase: Under certain conditions, H2O2 (hydrogen peroxide) can form highly reactive and damaging free radicals. H2O2 and other peroxides are converted to water and oxygen by the iron-containing catalase (peroxidase) enzymes. Therefore, catalase compliments SOD activity. Chaparral (Larrea Divaricata): Chaparral refers to a group of wild shrubs that grow throughout much of the arid western United States & parts of Mexico and is considered a strong antioxidant & blood purifier. As a lipotropic amino acid, it aids in reduction of fat & lowering of cholesterol. It detoxifies amines that are by-products of protein metabolism. Methionine acts as a catalyst for choline & inositol, speeding up their function. It also lowers histamine levels in the blood that can cause the brain to relay wrong messages, aids in removing toxic waste from the liver, promotes regeneration of kidney & liver tissue, affects hair follicle health & may be an antistress factor. L-Taurine: Taurine is made in the body and absorbed from food. Diabetics, infants & vegans have been found lacking in Taurine. This amino acid serves many function including aiding in the clearing of free radical waste, required for transportation of magnesium & potassium into the cellular structure, the normal functioning of the heart, gallbladder, eyes, and vascular system, in the brain, taurine acts as a neurotransmitter that inhibits anxiety, & aids in stabilizing cell membranes that are important in controlling epileptic seizure. Lemon Oil: Lemon Oil contains terpenes, linked with reduced risk of cancer. MPS (Mucilaginous-Poly-Saccharides) from Aloe: Promotes the reduction of blood sugar in Type 1 & Type 2 Diabetes. MPS Aloe contains essential oils, amino acids, minerals, vitamins, enzymes and glycoproteins. Aloe aids in alkalizing the digestive tract, which helps prevent acid build-up. As we know, too many acid toxins in the body is the root cause of many degenerative and aging diseases, including some diabetes. MPS Aloe promotes insulin production in the pancreas, and in the case of Diabetes it decreases and in the case of Hypoglycemia it increases blood sugar in the body. MPS Aloe contains complex carbohydrates. In combination with the Beta Glucan (as we have in this formulation), there is a healing effect on pancreatic function. This ingredient has also been used to treat colitis, peptic ulcers, digestive tract problems, and aids in the function of the kidney, gall bladder, liver, circulatory system, & lymphatic system. Papain: Papain comes from unripe papayas. Papain is the most widely used proteolytic enzyme, belonging to the thiol protease group. Papain has a rather broad specificity.
