Alfalfa Powder Power

Organic, Leaf Only, Low Temperature Dried to Retain Phytonutrients!

Alfalfa is one of the greatest foods given to us as a rich source of all minerals (especially calcium, magnesium, potassium phosphorus, and iron in their most digestible form), fluoride in a natural form and most beneficial trace minerals, fiber, all vitamins (A as beta carotene, B6, B12, C, D, E and K) the eight essential amino acids, protein, enzymes, essential fatty acids, antioxidants such as chlorophyll, Octacosanol, Saponins, Carotenoids and other phytonutrients!  In all, Alfalfa contains over 65 nutrients.

Our Alfalfa is grown high up in the mountains in Utah in rich soil that is not treated with chemicals.  The land is on a crop rotation program and therefore the ground is mineral rich and we harvest Alfalfa high in protein and all of the other beneficial nutrients.  After harvest, we use only the leaves, which are rinsed, juiced and dried at a low temperature, so as not to hurt the phytonutrients, but to keep them totally intact for use by our bodies.  When fresh fruits, vegetables, grains and grasses are freeze-dried or dried at high temperatures (pasteurized), the original chain in the food is fractured and the nutrient is damaged.

Alfalfa produces an alkaline system and as with other nutrient products that move our pH from acid to alkaline it aids with those conditions that are improved by changing our system from acid to alkaline.  These conditions include Arthritis in some of its forms, Carpal Tunnel, Digestive Tract Imbalances that result in intestinal and stomach ulcers, colitis, and acid stomach conditions, and acts as a detoxifying agent of the intestinal system and the blood.  Alfalfa is known to be a good diuretic for reducing water retention and may be used to treat cystitis (bladder infection).

Alfalfa products have been successfully tested for lowering cholesterol levels in the bloodstream and removing plaque from arterial walls.  High cholesterol is a precursor for heart conditions and stroke.  Chlorophyll is a deodorizer and body cleanser and aids in bad breath and digestion difficulties.  Anytime we alkalize our system, like we do with Alfalfa, we are promoting the healing of symptoms from gout, allergies, morning sickness (nausea), colds and diabetes.  Trace minerals such as fluoride aid in the prevention of tooth decay.  And it has been used to treat those with anemic conditions.  Alfalfa is especially effective when taken in conjunction with Vitamin C.   Alfalfa is known for increasing the flow of milk in nursing mothers.  We recommend checking with your health care practitioner prior to use if you are nursing.

In centuries past, the Arabs claimed that Alfalfa made their horses strong and swift.  As a result, they began to use this grass in their diets.  Being convinced of just how beneficial this was to their health they named it Al-Fal-Fa, meaning father Father of all Foods.  In Chinese and Indian medicine, Alfalfa has been used for over 1,000 years to treat digestive ailments successfully.

Suggested Use: As a dietary supplement, adults may take 1 to 2 level teaspoons daily.  Weight and condition apply to dose.  Children over 40 pounds may take 1/4 teaspoon daily.  If you are treating a cold or the flu, acidosis, a digestive imbalance or a degenerative condition, adults may take up to 6 teaspoon daily.  Alfalfa is especially effective when taken in conjunction with Vitamin C.  One jar contains approximately 125 one-teaspoon servings of Alfalfa powder.

This product may be mixed with beverages and is especially good in vegetable and tomato juices and in protein and fruit blender drinks.  It may also be added to dips, dressings, herbal teas and soups.  It is especially good in soup when you have the cold or flu.  Add to the soup after the soup has been cooked, directly to the bowl to control dosage and protect the quality of the phytonutrients.  Maybe added to herbal tea after the tea is steeped.  The quality of this powder is excellent and does not taste bitter.

Warning:  Not recommended for those who use blood-thinning agents.  Alfalfa contains Vitamin K, a known vitamin to aid in the clotting of blood.  If you are pregnant or nursing, have an immune deficient disease, or are taking estrogen supplements such as birth control pills, check with your health care practitioner prior to using this or any other supplement.
